Unveiling of the new NexGen $100 Bill
Does anyone here, have any ideas when the new colorized $100 bill
might be unveiled? I'm thinking, since most of the new currency notes are unveiled in September that, it might be possible that September may be when we get to see what the new $100 bill is going to look like. Or at least, I'm hoping so. Has anyone heard any rumors on an unveiling date? And, when are the new $100 bills supposed to be issued? I'm hearing early 2010, and next spring. So, would it be likely that the new $100 bill may be issued some time around March, like the new $5 bills were, last March? Don't they unveil the new designs about 5-6 months in advance? (The new $5 bill was unveiled in September, and issued in March, which was about 6 months before releasing them. Oh, and when do you think that the BEP will begin printing these new $100 bills? I mean, what month would they have to start printing them? I have been keeping up with the Where's George? wbsites posts about the monthy BEP currency denomination print runs, and right now, they seem to be printing odd amounts of certain denominations, which I heard was odd, and that they are probably preparing to start cranking out the new colorized $100 bills. I also read an article that said that the Crane & Co. were having trouble with the new advanced security threads, where they were feeling too thick, and they wanted to release the new $100 bills in late 2008, but they ran into all of these complications. Sorry for all of the annoying posts, but I'm bored and figured maybe I could find out some info here. Tom |
