Mexico Released 100 Peso and 200 Peos Commemorative Banknotes
On the occasion of the Bicentennial celebration of Independence Day
and the centennial of the Mexican Revolution this Wednesday, Banco de Mexico released into circulation two new 100 Peso and 200 Peso banknotes The front of the new 100-peso note shows a locomotive that carried revolutionary troops in 1910. The reverse shows soldiers in David Alfaro Siqueiros' mural "Del Porfirismo a la Revolución". The front of the 200-peso note shows Miguel Hidalgo carrying a banner, a painting by Jesus Enrique Emilio de la Helguera Evans.
