This book is a Unit History Book of the 9th Infantry Division in WWII and is
titled, Eight Stars to Victory, A History of the Veteran Ninth U.S. Infantry
Division. The Book is published by the Ninth Infantry Division Association
and written by Captain Joseph B. Mittelman. The book is First Edition,
Copyright 1948. The book is 406 pages traces the 9th Division from its
reactivation for WWII through all campaigns during WWII throughout the
European Theatre (France, Belgium, Over the Meuse, past the Siegfried Line,
The Bulge, Over the Rhine and Ruhr, through the Harz Mountains, Wittenberg,
Meeting the Russians, and onto Berlin and the liberation of Concentration
Camp Prisoners at Dachau). The appendices lists 9th Division campaigns,
casualties (Killed in Action), Awards and Decorations, Foreign Awards, Known
Command and Staff personnel, and the organization of the Division by
Regiment, Battalion, Platoons, and Companies. The book is filled with
photographs and maps. The book measures 8 1/2 inches x 10 inches. The book
is in excellent condition. There are no loose, torn, or missing pages. There
are no stains or water marks. The spine is weak.
