An Archery Cinderella.
I don't usually post a lot of my junk, for fear of boring people, however........ This is a special occaision to thank one of my off-list friends, who has helped me from time to time. Around the time of the first postage stamp, the Penny Black (October 1840) A one, Mr. W. Liardet, the owner of Brighton Pier Hotel, Port Melbourne, Victoria, formed a small group of archers. (The first archery club in Aust?) This is a centenary cinderella (definitely a label :) from 1939 to celebrate Mr Liardet. http://cjoint.com/data/gkmXW36Xcz.htm As an aside: 1855 AD - January - The 'Melbourne Herald' newspaper reported an archery competition held at Emerald Hill, South Melbourne which was won by an American with a longbow.
