Aurora Idea Translucent fp by
Penny Howland
Are they still making this style? Least expensive of all the Auroras. I
checked with FP Hospital and they haven't had them for ages and didn't know
if they were discontinued. Couldn't find Aurora's web site or would ask
them directly. Anybody know? Thanks, Penny

Wettest pens by
Gregg Gibson
I am feeling very frustrated because I have tried a number of fountain
pens and none of them are nearly wet enough for my taste. I find the
Waterman Phileas and Laureat for example far too dry, as are a wide
selection of cheap vintage pens I've got on ebay. I've always used
Sheaffer cartridge pens,...

Used Sheaffer Targa writes really dry by

Hi!
I bought a used stainless steel Sheaffer Targa with a medium
nib online that doesn't write right. It will barely write, if
at all, unless I apply a lot of pressure -- not so much that
I fear wrecking it -- but far...

Heat-setting feed by
Perry Donham
Anyone have experience heat-setting a feed? I have a couple of Skylines with
a fairly large gap between nib and feed that I'd like to repair. Is it
easier to work with the nib off the feed, or on the assembled unit?

Review of Waterman Charleston by
sbsawler
I love the Charleston; the writing is smooth, the pen weight and balance is
great. I use it daily for the past couple of years and only recently begun
to have a problem.
The part of the pen where your fingers grasp when you write (i.e. between
the nib and the barrel) is starting to have play. It...

Rotring Core question by
Bob Lablaw
I bought one a few days ago, and I'm not crazy about the ink flow. It's
a bit dry, which makes it a bit scratchy too. I've ordered a converter
for it, and will put different ink in it, as well. (I bought the Rotring
cartridges.)
Is it reasonable to expect anything different? Is their ink not...

Question mixing Noodlers & Penman Sapphire by
Kenneth D. Schillinger
Last week Chuck Swisher posted saying that there was a definite problem with
mixing Noodlers Aquamarine Blue Contract Ink with Penman Sapphire Blue.
I admit that I have been mixing a little Sapphire with my Aquamarine to get
a little darker blue in two Pelikans now for a couple months or so...

Pilot Elite deal by
Speebob
This is a Brand new mint, New-old-stock, Pilot Elite FP. The Elite is a
typical Japanese "Big Cap" design. Large cap and section with a small body.
I have 2 of these left. They are brand new, never used, with sticker, in
box
(modern box), Mint. Probably from the 1980's and early 1990's or so...

College rule? by
JimL
Just an idle muse question.
The packages of paper cut and punched for three-ring notebook binders
for school children (and old children like me, gathering cheap scratch
paper in the back to school sales). -- The pages are lined, and one
of the two sizes of lines is labelled as "college ruled." ...

Here's an interesting ebook on ink.

I have an awesome lot of vintage pens I just started on E-bay. There are
some really neat items like several really nice Parker 75's including Laque
75 sets and some nice patterns in gold. Also some rainbow cap 61's, a 51
set in box, some 180's, etc. From Sheaffer mostly old Imperials, some...

Noodlers Ink and Parker 61 Capillary filler. by

Just got my first couple of bottles of Noodlers ink this morning (Thanks
Sam!).
The Black Waterproof works wonderfully, ran a page under the tap and nothing
happened to the ink.
Now, I'm sat here with a Parker 61 capillary filler which I normally fill
with Quink, and a bottle of legal lapis,...
