Newsletter software by
Bobstamp
My club, the BC Philatelic Society, has an enthusiastic new newsletter
editor. He used MS Word, with great difficulty, and would very much
wants to use friendlier desktop publishing software.
Does anyone in this newsgroup have suggestions about inexpensive
desktop publishing software that the club...

It's Cinderella time. by
Rod
Part of Australia's 150th Birthday.
The Bridge was only 6 years old.
Some things to note.
You won't see "the stack of dishes" under the Bridge
at Bennelong Point, Jorn Utzon designer of the Opera House
was only just 20 then.
The Lifesaving Issue
(probably Bondi but I am not Au fait with the...

Souvenir sheets by
Tony Vella
For some silly reason I just cannot bring myself to give or throw away
souvenir sheets even those outside my collecting period (from Penny Black to
December 31, 1959). I have been tempted to buy a full size photo album
(some of my SS are rather large) to keep them in - the sticky pages covered...

Advice needed on mounting and shipping stamps by
Barry Kramer
Hello, recently I posted to this newsgroup a request for advice on the
dispersal of an old stamp collection (US & Worldwide). I have decided to
break up the collection into lots divided by country.
I am new to stamp collecting, and now need advice on how to properly mount
and ship the stamps. ...

Mass scanning of stamps question by
Bill P
I have a need to scan thousands of stamps.
I would like to place a few dozen on the scanner at a time, and then
have some software automatically ( if possible) separate the
individual stamps into separate image files. Does anyone know of the
name of such software?
Thanks In Advance
Bill

Canada Anne of Green Gables by
Ralphael1
I just received two copies of the Canada Anne of Green Gables joint
issue for my collection. I am not at all happy with this one.
The pair of self-adhesieve stamps appear to be torn from the bottom of
a booklet pane. They are perforated on the top only. The other three
sides has a wide frame that...

Ecuador Stamp ID Please by
Treacan
This stamp is somewhat similar to a Scott 776-786 1969 series(my 1999
issue is not in color and the details are hard to make out) It has a
similar map and the words Timbre Orientalista. Also Juno appears at the
bottom rather than at the top. The series is surcharged and are not
issued without,...

Machin Bisects by
Chris Doran
An interesting pair of covers:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3502&item=5524929429&rd=1
I don't know what the PO rules about creating bisects are, but it
looks as if the local post office had to write an explanation on each
envelope and the sorting office to agree. (Is...

Restarting my stamp collection by
Chris[_11_]
For some reason I lost interest in collecting stamps about 47 years or
so ago. When I was home to see my mom last month she gave me my stamp
collection that she had been holding onto for all these years along with
a whole box of stamps that I had not put into the book. I'm ready to
start collecting...

Questions from kilowa Danish perfins, Ivory Coast postalstationary, etc... by
Joshua McGee[_2_]
OK, a roundup of questions from kiloware that I just sorted:
1. http://cjoint.com/?mtfg5ypcWY
This piece of paper has the same design as a Cote d'Ivoire stamp -- it
was identified as the stamp itself by the (inept) kiloware dealer.
However, it is imperf, ungummed, on roughly 20# stock, and...

Travancore. by
rodney
Tony here is some details on your cover.
(I do note you are becoming more focused on Travancore, this is to be
understood and expected, as collectors become more refined in their path)
I think CMS is combined Missionary Service, and Bishop Corfield was Church
of England.
