Sheaffer v waterman ink by
BC
Hi there,
I have had a fair bit of trouble with a waterman charleston skipping over
the past 6 months. I have had it returned to waterman half a dozen times and
changed nibs a few times as well, only to find that it still skips. I
thought i would give it a try with some ink other than the waterman...

Waterman Pens For Sale by
Stan Klemanowicz
The following pens by Waterman are for sale. I've attached links to
pictures taken by my feeble camcorder. Laugh if you will. Scratch your
head, etc. but, it's all I've got. Besides, most of you know what this
stuff looks like anyway. Pictures can be linked by clicking on URL
beneath each...

Ah, I love bending minds by
Deirdre Saoirse Moen
I was at a science fiction convention this last weekend and got some
information from a guy using a low-priced (but still eminently
serviceable) fountain pen.
I showed him my Namiki Vanishing Point and his head exploded. "That's
SO cool!" he said.
When he'd gotten his head back together, I showed...

For C, Blueline A796.01 Record by
Bluesea
Is it wide-ruled or college-ruled?
I went looking for one yesterday at Staples so that I could start my books
and movies journal, but only found a couple by other companies that were
college-ruled. Since that's too cramped for me, I thought I'd ask before
searching elsewhere.
Thanks.

OT... by
William Lee
I saw this on a forum, just thought it might be of interest...
The photo below has 2 identical dolphins in it.
This photo was used in a case study on addiction levels at St. Mary's
Hospital.
Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water.
The dolphins are very clost to looking identical.
A...

Parker Duofold - Wartime? by
wavygravy
I've got a Parker Duofold, double jewel, button fill. It is a dark olive in
color. The pen is plastic but the section is ebonite. The large nib says
Parker Pen Made in USA 1. Five and a quarter inches closed. There is a
tassie on the blind cap. Arrow clip, single cap band in the familiar...

Cheaper to buy Pelikans in Germany? by
morten
I'll be in Germany next month. Is it possible to get a steal of a
deal on Pelikans there? If so, anyone know of a dealer in Hamburg?

Everyman Journal by
macaddicted
Thought I would chip in with my report on the Everyman from Lee Valley.
The journal is large at 7 3/4" x 9 7/8", so if you are looking for
something portable this probably isn't it. The cover is made with a
heavy board stock and the paper is reportedly acid free. I've tried
three different inks-...

Parker Ink Incompatibility by
jono
I was informed today in a so called quality pen Harrods Lodon not to put
Parker ink in Pelikan or other non Parker pen.
Apparently the Parker ink is more viscous and will block ink ways in non
Parker pens including Waterman.
I like Parker ink against Pelikan as it provides a better look in...

Question international cartridges by
R. Paul Martin
So I've bought a couple of inexpensive pens. They take the
"international" cartridges. I'm used to the Schaeffer cartridges and
these "international" ones raise some questions.
The ones that came with my new pens are exactly 1.5 inches long. I
originally measured them in millimeters, about 38 mm,...

Review: Sheaffer Javelin by
Bluesea
I bought my Silver Argent Javelin for $15 amidst a flurry of discovering how
well the rOtring Core suits me. Thus, it almost never had a chance.
In regards to appearance, the Javelin has a conventional, yet modern, design
that's both quiet and attention-grabbing. "What kind of pen is that?...

My Balium Core just arrived by
Bluesea
Eeeuuuw. All that orange! It's a good thing that I won't be posting the cap
when I write. The ugliness would be just too distracting. I might have to
put black ink in it to help it along as it is, anyway ;).
I also got the Corridium (black/black). It looks *really* good :).
I also got a Tanakor...

Article in Stylophiles by
William Lee
Got my first copy of Stylophiles today.
There was an article about Father Terry in it.
It was interesting to learn that Father Terry (a well known pen repairman)
was not a pen collector.
The article said Father Terry had three Rotring Cores that he thought were
"nice writers".
It is noteable that...

Extricating nib unit collars from Sheaffer Cadets by
Nick Sweeney
A slightly obscure repair question: I've got a couple of Sheaffer
Cadets (i.e. touchdown tip-dips) that I've begun to restore, but
there's a slight problem with the screw-out nib units.
The central section -- the nib and feed -- has come loose from the nib
collar, leaving it screwed into the...

Great Group - Soap Works! by

After posting my woes with a couple of pens that didn't flow, I took

and water.
Now... my pens work beautifully. Thank you!

hobby. But this group is an...

Mont Blanc burgundy ballpoint pen: Real or Fake? by
Gibby
I have a used Mont Blanc Meisterstuck burgundy colored ballpoint pen.
It does not have a serial # on it, nor does it say, "made in Germany."
The words, "Mont Blanc Meisterstuck" appears at the midsection where
there are 3 rings. The pen has gold plated clip and accents. The white
star on the upper...

Mont Blanc Quality ?! by
jono
I am interested in buying a MontBlance fountain pen.
I have seen somewhere the resin used for body is prone to damage, splitting
etc due to fragile nature of material.
Is this true.
Advice would be welcome.
