"Ecopli" Rate by Dave Kent
Monaco has announced a new stamp for the "ecopli" rate (48 Euro cents). I cannot find this word in any French dictionary, and assume it to be a special postage rate. Can any of our european members define what this is? A Google search did not provide helpful results.

"funny face cancels" by wolfb
Why are these unwanted? A recent buy ad from a local dealer listed several modern commems used to buy at $0.10 each, but stipulated no "funny face cancels" wanted. I'd think they would bring a premium, especially if they had all the faces and such on the stamp. What do you think? Wolf-==-

"Local Address" stamps by Stamps4ra
As a follow up to the post about Singapore's Local Address stamps: The USA also issued several stamps marked for Local Addresses Only and some post offices would not accept them for overseas mail, some would. The Old Glory 'G' stamps of 1994 are a good example. The idea went over like a lead...

"Lot Of The Day" by J. A. Mc.
I'm sure all the GB collectors will recognize this "Rare George VI" stamp. What is more interesting is that the seller includes imagery of items NOT offered AND has a reserve on this badly trimmed postal stationery item. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2949426917&category=3508

I would like to create a cover using the upcoming US "Northeast Deciduous Forest" sheet, P/O the "Nature of Amarica" series. This will have a single design over the entire sheet, with 10 individual die-cut stamps scattered over it. All self-adhesive. Can people tell me what methods they have...

"New" B.C. Phil logo by Bob Ingraham
The British Columbia Philatelic Society recently had some graphic-design work done on its logo, which is based on the first British Columbia stamp, Scott #7, issued in 1865. For our newsletter and web site, we've been using a much-photocopied version that was definitely looking the worse for...

"notopfer" berlin, what is it? by SEKT
hello, I'd like to describe my question in words but I can't so I'll let pictures speak, maybe someone can just briefly say what this odd creature is, what it may be worth, does it come in different varieties, I acquired a few of them, and would like to know if they deserve a place in...

"Para-States" and Philately by Ed Jackson
Today's issue of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has an interesting article entitled "Quest for Legitimacy." It is about efforts by seven "para-states" to seek sovereignty and international recognition. In many cases, these regions have a government, flag, police, and other attributes of a nation....

I have just received an e-mail, claiming to have come from Stampstore.org, asking me to log in to a website and verify my account details. "The Engravers Line" by Gene Hessler by Bob Watson
Has anyone seen this book? It was published in 1993 and apparently is about banknote and stamp engraving/engravers. Amazon list it at over C$100 but give minimal details as to scope and content. I would be interested to know what it's all about. All the best, Bob Watson

"The Fir Tree" by Mette
Christmas is coming closer, so it's time for the annual Season's Greetings to this group. This year I have chosen H.C.
