Denise Enck
Hoping someone can help me out.
I found this illustration in a clip-art book & am going to use it in a
project. I think I've seen it before but cannot recall which book it comes
fro.. I'd be grateful if anyone can enlighten me!

Newbie has oldie book question by
Bill Jeffrey
Forgive me if I'm in the wrong place. I would welcome pointers
elsewhere if that's what's needed.
In 1897-98, my Great-Grandfather organized the "Alaska Yukon and
Klondike Gold Syndicate" to raise funds so he could go to the Klondike
and find gold. Don't think he was successful, or at least none...

Ebooks on ABE by
Mike Berro
Well, if this is a harbinger of things to come, searching ABE for
collectible books got a little tougher:
http://dogbert.abebooks.com/abe/BookDetails?ph=1&bi=249161354
It doesn't seem right, and may in fact violate Project Gutenberg's rules.

online used bookstores? by
friend2001
Currently I use bookcloseouts.com once a month or so and Powells.com two
or three times a year but am still desperately seeking an online used
bookstore with a huge fiction selection.
Any hidden gems out there? E-mail me please.....

How do you catalog your books? by
Phil Phil
Hello:
I just subscribed to this newsgroup.
A few months ago, I have finally decided to donate my book collection
(1000+ titles mostly computer science and non-fiction) to the New York
Public Library Division of Science and Industries. I chose this one
because I am a frequent visitor and I know...

Ross Poldark by
anderson
I have a first edition of this well-loved Cornish novel, printed in 1945
(War Economy Standard). It has a bright dust wrapper that is in quite good
condition apart from some tears at the bottom and at the top of the spine.
I have tried to find the value of this book using Abe and AddAll and...

What is wrong with this cover? by
my-wings
I have a small book with weird cover damage. At first I thought it was mold,
although the book doesn't smell musty. My second thought was water damage,
because of the pattern, but none of the pages are wrinkled, and the boards
are not warped.
It almost looks as if some kind of clay sizing has...

Stamped Lovecraft? by
Courtney Love
I feel a twinge of suspicion about this listing. Would Lovecraft really stamp
this book instead of merely writing his name in pen? If so, why a total of 18
times in one book, as the seller...

Book Inventory Software by
John Warner
As a novice online bookseller, I am interested in purchasing one of
the many book inventory software. Which software package have you
found to be the best value--cost vs. ease of use, quality of reports,
utility, etc.?

restoring a paperback by
BookEditions
I recently purchased a hard-to-find paperback, signed by the author, and the
spine leans. Does anyone know of a safe way to try to restore the spine to a
more original condition? Thanks.

Pocket PC Software for Book Collectors by
Mike Berro
I've written my first book-related piece of software for the Pocket PC. It's
called "AbeSearch", and it allows you to enter the standard ABE search
criteria. It downloads the page internally, and puts everything in a
scrolling list box for (relatively) easy viewing on the small screen. You
can view...

A surprise near Russell Square... by
Jbrodie1750
A few days ago, in a well-established bookshop in Bloomsbury, I asked to see a
book that I am also selling on ABE. I was curious to see it because I priced
my copy largely based on the price and described condition of their copy that
is also listed on ABE. And that description is hardly glowing:...
