Problems with Private Reserve Ink? by
Argent
I recently visited a pen seller's site that had a note about Private Reserve
inks saying that using them voided the seller's warranty. I've been using
Private Reserve Black Cherry in a couple of my pens and haven't noticed any
problems.
Does anyone have an explanation or caution about...

Moleskines - Maybe A Little OT by
Argent
I've introduced my daughters to fountain pens and was thinking of giving them
Moleskines notebooks in their Christmas stockings. However, one of them won't
willingly touch anything made of leather.
Anybody know what the material is that Moleskines have on the covers?
Thanks!

Sheaffer Christmas Fountain Pens by
Argent
I've recently seen a couple of items on eBay described as "Sheaffer Pen Company
Limited Edition Christmas pen for 1996. The hand painted holly and ball cap
decoration was inspired by artist Coles Phillip's original illustration in the
Sheaffer's 1920s advertising."
Anybody familiar with these...

Hi all,

I'd like to have more knowledge about this pen, so does anyone have any

First time FP buyer/user by
ArmsTom
Hey there everyone.
I've grown tired of the "5 for $3.97" pens you buy at WalMart and thought
I'd give a fountain pen a go. I'm a college student, so cost is a factor.
I don't /really/ want to spend above $50. I'm also a complete newbie to
foutain pens, so I want something that is relatively...

Noodler's and XF nibs -- amazing! by
Arnav
Though I've been using a few of the Noodler's colors for about two months, I
just now tried the black ink for the first time -- in a pen with an XF nib.
I've never seen the nib lay down such a fine line before. On both good and
trashy paper.
I'm inclined to attribute this to the ink's...

Difficulties with Noodler's American Eel Ink by
Arnav
I'm looking for an inexpensive, easily-available, 24-28 lb. unlined paper to use
with Noodler's American Eel ink.
On Staples 20 lb. copy paper it works nicely, with only a bit more feathering
than regular Noodler's ink. On Staples 24 lb. "printing" paper it writes well
but takes over 4 minutes to...

Non-permanent Noodler's blues by
Arnav
Are any of the Noodler's blue inks completely free of the permanent black dye?
I'm looking for a blue ink that can be easily washed out of cotton fabric. I
very much like the color and freedom of feathering of the Ottoman Azure, but it
seems to have a component that binds tenaciously to paper. ...

Parker 95 and 88 nibs by
Arnav
I have a Parker 95 with an very smooth XF nib, which also writes very well as an
XXF with the nib rotated 180 degrees. Rather useful for writing math.
Do Parker 88s have the same feature? (Oscar Braun is selling these at a very
attractive price right now.)
Any other cheap pens that do this...

Parker Sonnet medium oblique and medium italic nibs by
Arnav
I'm wondering about Parker's medium oblique (#88) and medium italic (#94) nibs
for the Sonnet, and trying to decide between them sight-unseen.
Could someone with experience with either or both of these nibs give their
impressions of them? Are they any good?
What are the maximum/minimum stroke...

Question about how to fill a fountain pen by
asereh
Hello,
I'm new to this newsgroup, and as a classic newbie I need an information.
I recovered a silver Parker Fountain pen that was given to me as gift
some years ago. Making a search on Internet I discovered that it is a
Parker 75.
Inside the pen there is a tank with a lever that, as I understood...
