Sad News - Tim Prusmack has passed away by
EdKuszmar
Some sad news. Just got a call that Tim Prusmack, renowned Money
Artist, passed away after complications from surgery in Vero Beach.
Tim was a great guy and a great artist. I believe he was only 41.
Tim issued copies of his hand-drawn currency for many years and the
quality of his work was...

One dollar bill...from 1969?? by
J
I received a one dollar bill yesterday. I happened to notice the date on
it: 1969. The bill look practically new. Certainly not 36 years old. Is
this common for cash that old to still be in circulation?? Just wondering.

wondering whether these'll ever be worth anything... by
Patrick Yu
Hello,
I was cleaning out my room today and found a bunch of unused bills of
all denominiations from the mid 90s or so. Just wondering how long
it'll be before these are worth anything... should I just spend them?
Thanks,
Patrick

Japanese "Banana" money by
Serenus Zeitblom
No, this is not a "how much is it worth"
question. Instead I would like to ask:
what happened in the formerly Japan-
occupied countries after 1945? I mean,
after declaring the japanese money
worthless, how exactly were the Philippine
peso, the Malayan dollar, etcetc re-defined?
Or were bills and...

Last Two Notes in Bundle Question by
Harvey
I have found on at least three recent occasions that the last two notes in a
BEP fresh, shrink-wrapped, bar coded bundle of 1,000 notes (10 straps) have
been pulled and replaced with star notes. It has happened to me both with $2
and $5 notes.
The common myth is that star notes are replacement...

An odd statement. by
note.boy
The seller is offering a British Linen Bank £5 of 1959,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3173&item=3911700062&rd=1
and he says, "These notes are being withdrawn from circulation, as all
of the old Scottish notes are demonitized."
Which is a bit odd as Linen Bank notes...

New 1996 $20 notes appearing by
Dan
I was in Richmond, VA two weeks ago and I noticed my friend pay for
something with a couple of fresh 1996 $20 notes. I thought it was a
fluke thing but the next day I went to an ATM at a gas station just
north of the city and received $200 in crisp, consecutive 1996 $20
notes. They were from the...

Series 2001 $50's and Series 2003 $10's by
Nicholas Cheung
It seems that these bills are mostly sent to Foreign Exchange
bureaus/Banks outside of the USA.
I hardly see these in CU here in the USA, with the exception of a few
that did make it into Self Service Checkouts in supermarkets.
Anyone else notice this?

Does this look real? by
JSTONE9352
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3905992945
These notes are usually more white in color, the faded "yellow" look makes
me think these might be reproduction notes.
