Price Differences between Catalogues....... by
Spudley
I've been going through my collection and cataloguuing
it...............I noticed that for some stamps, there is a huge
disparity in price for the same stamp.
For example
The 1974 Orchids series from Barbados, the $0.12 variety used
(Dendrobium aggregatum)
Scott 403 (2000...

I scanned and posted on my website the new Israeli stamps
that were issued in May 2008.
(The Postal service just sent them out this week.
The stamps I announced last month were from April.)
I included the stamp itself, the first day cover,
and an English and a Hebrew flyer about the...

OFF TOPIC.
Does anyone here by chance use Copernic Destop Search? If you do I would
very much appreciate your help understanding a particular function of the
program (as I cannot get Copernic to reply to my emails). Thanks in
advance.

Postal History: Forwarded to General Delivery, then returned by
Joshua McGee[_3_]
Here's an interesting piece of hypermodern postal history:
http://cjoint.com/?hdhLTTHOgJ
My club sent out a batch mailing to prospective new members. One card,
addressed to a Mr. Gabbard, was sent by the membership secretary through
the mail processing center in Jackson, Mississippi. It...

Tomorrow's postal history: Australian rugby aerogramme by
Joshua McGee[_3_]
Found in a box lot was the following aerogramme from 1990:
http://cjoint.com/?gChYKIsSeA
http://cjoint.com/?gChZgRbkRo
It would not have caught my notice, except for two interesting facts.
First, the endorsement on the front to "HOLD UNTIL COLLECTED with Mosman
Rugby Club Centenary Tour" and a...

Nice South African Postage Paid Envelope by
[email protected]
We all receive some kind of postage paid envelopes, usually with some
type of junk mail or advertising.
This stamp dealer created his own neat "stamp" when telling us that
postage was paid from Cape Town.

Question About Official & Postage Due Stamps by
[email protected]
I know we've discussed a little of this before, in dribs and drabs, no
doubt.
OK... Why would dealers or even collectors get mint copies of
official stamps or postage due stamps - say, U.S. only for the moment.
One may reply because the post office gave them sheets as receipts of
something or...

Of course, you'd immediately think there's a joke going on here, yes?
Well, this is a bit more serious, but it did catch some attention, no?

Question about catalogues by
Tony Vella
With the exception of a few - very few - countries, my stamp-collecting
interests stop at January 1, 1960. My Scott catalogue is of 2005 and so I
have no reason for getting a newer edition. I see a lot of reference by
honorable members of this group to the Stanley Gibbons system of numbering...

A Paris Cinderella ... by

Ok, we all know that the "city of love" has had a lot written about
it. Well, here's a little label that seemed to have done postal duty
of some kind.

Take a look at the right side. Those are cancel marks. Many people
put labels on their envelopes and I'm...

Another Example of the Devil / Satan on a Stamp - 1897 by

We were trying to find some stamps with the devil / Satan on them and
here you go, one from the Belgian 1897 Exposition:

This one displays St. Michael dueling with the king of the underworld.
What is funny is that we were discussing this and I kept passing...
