Glue in Hardcovers by
Ferris
I understand that modern hardcover book generally involves a glued
spine as opposed to a sewn one.
Does this fundamentally change the life expectancy of a book? I am
not a 'collector' though I am growing a personal library and I've
lately tried to only purchase hardcovers because I've come...

Little Blue Books? by
scotkamins

I recently discovered a series of numbered books (pamphlets really,
about 64 pages each) called the Little Blue Books. These guys started
around 1919 and there are around 2,000 titles (more, actually). I think
I'd like to start a collection of these. Anybody know where I can buy a
large...

Metal Book Shelves by
niki2481
Does anyone remeber those floating curved metal book shelves. I
remeber seeing them in an episode of Real World one time. Does anyone
know where I could find some. I am not sure even if they are made
anymore.
Thanks

Kessinger - bad printing by
weary flake
Kessinger has some bad printing. If they cannot print pictures
properly, they shouldn't reprint books with pictures.
The identical copy of a book scanned at books.google.com is the
source for some Kessinger books, yet inferior printing by Kessinger.

Effect of Rebinding by
Francis A. Miniter[_2_]
Having just acquired a book that has been reasonably nicely
rebound, I am wondering about rebindings.
First, the book. Longfellow, Evangeline, 4th printing,
1848, in very good condition, A.E.G. At some point the
original paper board binding described in BAL 12089 was
replaced with a...

What happens to book prices during a recession? by
RS
What do you think happens to book prices during a recession? What
about
a depression? Is there a somewhat objective criteria for knowledge
about this?
What about average price book values compared to rare values?

Antiques Roadshow by
RF
I was watching Antiques Roadshow (love that show!) recently and a
woman with a rare old LDS book was getting it evaluated by a so-called
"expert".
The book was over 150 years old and in fragile condition.
The lout who was appraising it was putting his greasy hands all over
it, treating it a bit...

How to Tind a Book Site by
[email protected]
There needs to be one. Someone could make good coin building one too.
I've looked for two books that I don't know the titles for 15 years on
ebay.
Such a site would show thumbnails of book covers listed by genre and
year. If anyone knows anything remotely close to this please post.
TIA.
