Pop Survey by
Bluesea
Since we've been on the topic of ink recently, another Pop Survey to
correspond is appropriate.
Question: What brand(s) of black, blue-black, blue, red, green, purple,
and/or turquoise do you currently have loaded in your pen(s)?
Me:

Nathan Tardif's sterling overlay pens by
Andy Rothman
Although I have not posted here in some time, I had to publicly praise
Nathan's sterling overlay work on two of my pens. The first is a
Pelikan 100 with a snake clip, and the second a Waterman 56 with a
wonderful, flexy nib. Nathan has turned these ordinary-looking pens
into true works of art. ...

Mont Blanc by
Jeffrey
Hi
I have a spare Italic nib for my ?classic black Mont Blanc fountain pen.
Is it possible for me to change the nib, or must it be done by a pro?
Thanks
Jeffrey

Parker Vacumatic Nibs by
Jack Harrell
I've picked up several Parker Vacumatics and while I love the look of the
pen, the nibs are horrible! There is one with a nib that is comfortable to
write with...but it is not on my favorite of the Vacumatics.
Can I just unscrew one nib and put it on the other? Or does this break some
seal that...

Noodler's in Canada? by
Txiasaeia
MAN, I've been asking a lot of questions :) Forgive my exuberance.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knew of a retailer here in Canada
that sold Noodler's ink. Unfortunately, US retailers tend to *ahem*
overcharge us Canadians on cross-border purchases - it's not that USPS
is expensive, but some...

Question - Parker with a glass converter? by
Ada Ma
Hi Folks,
Sorry I haven't posted in a long while - sort of gone off fountain
pens because I simply spend too much on them for my kind of income.
Yes, I know I sound like I have a fountain pen/ink addiction trying to
clean up! I still use FPs from time to time (weekly) and I still have
a website...

Pelikan 605? by
Txiasaeia
Quick question - are there any differences between this pen and the
Souveran 600, besides the colour and trim? Nib, body, etc. the same?

Ink flow by
Wendell
I have a Aurora Ipsilon that I use daily. After a miserable
experience with cartridges, I switched to using the converter and Mont
Blanc's ink (available easily locally at the Beverly Center store).
So far so good, but, I've noticed that the pen gets successively
harder to write with unless I keep...

Sheaffer Snorkel repair? by
Ron Wilbanks
While digging through my cousin's desk, I found a very, very good
condition Sheaffer Snorkel fountain pen. My cousin said, "that old pen
isn't worth anything, but if you like it you can have it." Not being
one to turn down a free gift like this, I decided to bring it home and
check it over.
When...

Stylophiles On-line: A short caveat by
Rob Astyk
Hi, All,
Bill Riepl is doing great work getting the new Stylophiles site
operative. The site is www,stylophiles0nline.com. He's putting up the
archive of Stylophiles from December, 2002 onward which includes the
early version of my series on Waterman. I want to provide a short
caveat when it comes...

Plain fountain pen recommendations? by
Dave
Nomen Nescio wrote:
Hi! I'm in the market for a cheap ($30) fountain pen that
is refillable from a bottle, with a fine tip, preferrably on
the slim side. I'm not to particular about `fancy looks' and
would rather spend my money on quality parts than gold plating.
I'm sort of new to...

Fountain Pen Identification by
Edward
Hello,
I need some help identifying two fountain pens, as I have only a
little pen experience.
The first is a waterman, in stainless steel with gold accents. The
barrel is not tapered, and neither is the cap. With the cap on the
pen, it is entirely cylindrical. With the pen closed, between...

Think Ink! -- article from the Christian Science Monitor by
Norman Haase
An article from the Christian Science Monitor on the history of ink, with a
bit on fountain pens (including the apocryphal Lewis Waterman story), geared
to youngsters. Still, an interesting overview for adults as well.

Hi, Folks,
I have been receiving refund request letters from Stylophiles
subscribers for a couple of weeks now and it's been a mixed lot, but
not in the ways you might think. Only one person has been nasty or
curt. Most folks start with a note about how much they enjoyed the
magazine and how much...
