Venting by
macaddicted
I suppose I just need to get this out. I just received what I consider
to be a very distressing notice from a pen site (usually goes by a three
letter acronym). There is currently a discussion regarding the nature of
their board, and one of my posts was redacted for what I consider to...

Ink Question by
eb
From a newbie - I moved up from a few cheap fountain pens to a
Waterman Phileas with a medium nib, which is terrific. I used one
cartridge, and then used the converter. I filled it with black Quink I
bought from Staples and am very satisfied with the results. While I'm
not looking to change inks, I...

How many 'collect' non-functioning pens? by
Curtis L. Russell
Just curious. For a long time I only had functioning pens, mostly new.
Maybe buying a couple of more flexible older(working) pens was the
beginning of the dam breaking, but lately I've purchased four pens,
all older, all non-functioning. None of them cost over $ 10 and they
all were different in at...

How Things Have Changed by
Juan
2 or 3 years ago I used to check this group everytime I was online.
Now, a weekly check is enough to notice that there's just a few new
threads (if any).
To make things worse, most of the posts are about fountain pens I don't
like at all (and according to the posts, I'm not alone here),...

WARNING: Noodler's Inks by
~shit-magnet~
These inks may not be the best for medium and/or fine nibbed pens. I
have experienced drying and clogging of both a Waterman and Romet
medium, both newer pens. Because the higher concentration of pigment
in Noodlers, the stroke-line looks better when used with fine and
medium nibs but be prepared...

Looking For an Ink Recommendation by
Jeremy
I have 2 Sheaffer Prelude fountain pens and one Cross Century Fountain pen
(I believe that it has been discontinued by now). I am currently using
Scrip ink, with the pens' converters.
I have noticed that Scrip black ink, in cartridges, seems thicker than does
the Blue ink, either in cartridges or...

on handwriting by
Juan
Hi, I recently have received some "complaints" from some friends and
coworkers about my handwriting. It is cursive, and I use F/M nibs (of
course fps). What's going on? My handwriting is not bad; it is not
like that rounded and separated letters some (most) people use though.
A coworker even...

Innovation in Fountain Pens by
David Heverly
I've been thinking about how fountain pens have changed over the years
and it doesn't seem there has been anything truly innovative in the
last 40 or 50 years. Maybe there have been innovations in the
manufacture of fountain pens and there may be some new materials such
as ABS plastic, but the...

First time FP buyer/user by
ArmsTom
Hey there everyone.
I've grown tired of the "5 for $3.97" pens you buy at WalMart and thought
I'd give a fountain pen a go. I'm a college student, so cost is a factor.
I don't /really/ want to spend above $50. I'm also a complete newbie to
foutain pens, so I want something that is relatively...

Storing fountain pens with ink in them? by
scottmandue
Hope I'm not posting too much but I'm new to the hobby and have
lots of questions. So far I have two fountain pens, one I keep at my
desk at work and one I keep at home for doodling and taking notes while
watching TV. The one at work is relatively new, works perfectly, and I
keep it in a coffee cup...

Waternan Hemisphere Problems by
AndyH
I was bought a Waterman Hemisphere for xmas. Normally I use Lamy
Safari, Cross or Parker fountain pens so I am well used to fountains
pens when they work and when they dont.
I decided to wait until the Waterman ink converter arrived from the
Parker Pen Co. I then filled it with Noodlers Purple. ...

Pelikan M1000 - How many drops does your barrel hold? by
LarryW[_3_]
If I draw ink v e r y s l o w l y, my M1000 will release up to 20
drops, but the average is more like 17. For such a large capacity
barrel, wouldn't it seem to hold more? The pen was just returned from
Chartpak because of this and 2 other complaints (pen was too dry and
the nib was a bit too...

First-time fountain pen? by
Iain Dalton
I'm a high-school student, with a $75/wk. salary, so I'm not looking to
get an expensive pen, but I'm getting or getting myself a journal this
Christmas holiday, something I've procrastinated a long time, and I want
it to look worthy of showing to my posterity, so I've decided to get a
fountain...

Long-term storage of ballpoints by
Mike S.
Or, more specifically - how to keep the ink from drying out?
I read a pen-related blog wherein the author suggested storing them in
zip-lock plastic bags from which air was removed with a straw prior to
sealing, in order to create a partial vacuum. No followup on whether it
works.
Thinking it...

Fountain Pens. What's the attraction? by
The Visitor[_2_]
Okay guys, I'm curious if anybody will share their reason for liking
fountain pens.
I like them because they take me back to what I feel were better times.
It's real writing. Seems more cultured perhaps.
I got wondering about this because I read this newspaper article about
people still...

Levenger Infinity Journal? by
KCat
Anyone tried these with PR and similar inks?
I don't care about the leather binding but 30 bucks for 600 pages is a
pretty good deal *if* the paper will hold up to my dark and dense inks. I
don't usually care for that sort of binding but...
posting this everywhere (well, 3 forums)

Regarding Parker Big Red by
kasey
There were a few fountain pen expertise, whom duplicate or clone Parker
Duofold Big Red with different material and sell it in FP market. I would
like to know is it against copy right by doing this ? Or they did obtain
some approval document from Parker ?? Can anyone clear my doubt ?
Thank you.
