why aren't nickels in Silver Proof Sets 90% silver? by
yawnmoth
Looking at the informational sheet in the 2008 Silver Proof Set, I see
that the nickel consists of 25% nickel and balance copper, whereas all
the other silver colored coins consist of 90% silver and balance
copper. Any ideas as to why this is?

My "Famous Dogs" legislation rewritten by
[email protected]
Bruce,
You said that you want to see "my" proposals, and not other people's,
so, here goes. I rewrote the legislation, so that the half dollar stay
the same size, but just a redesign of what is stamped on the coins.
I'm sending this to NAMA, even is people do think its crazy. Oh, and I
don't care...

Derby man charged in bank fraud by
Arizona Coin Collector
Hello
On the story below, ask first before you try to pass off
privately minted coins as legal tender for any purchase.
He must have had his "beer buzz" messed up at the game.

Coins used to cover toppless female model nipples by
Arizona Coin Collector
Hello
On the story below.
Can anyone find a photo of the toppless
model with her nipples covered with coins?
I have to agree that having images of
a woman topples, with her hard, round,
standing nipples, covered with coins is

Anybody know who guy #2 on this medal is?? by
Ken Barr
I have a medal up for sale on eBay right now, a commemorative for the
50th anniversary of the Leyte Gulf battle (Philippines), with two
portraits on it. One is obviously General Douglas MacArthur (with the
corncob pipe, no less), but I have absolutely no idea as to who the
second guy is. If...

The Statehood Quarters Program Is Finally Over by
Jerry Dennis
Rather than start a thread about "Your Most and Least Favorite
Statehood Quarters" or "Which Losing Statehood Quarter Design Is Your
Favorite?", I thought I'd post the mintages by State and Mint. I took
the numbers from the Mint's web site, entered them onto a spreadsheet,
and sorted them by...

2009 Silver Eagles? by
GreyFox
Guess still being kind of a newbie in this hobby, I'm once again
confused.
I see on ebay that folks are selling 2009 Silver Eagles..."in stock."
However, when I go to the US Mint website, I see no mention of 2009
Eagles for sale.
So.....????

Will the Sacagawea dollar be snubbed again in 2009? by
Dave Allured
The US Mint seemed very excited about the new Native American dollar
coins, the extension of the Sacagawea/Golden Dollar series. They were
the first circulating coins released in 2009, and targeted through the
Mint's direct ship...

Important questions by
Bruce Remick
Why has it been so easy to incorporate the year, IGWT, Liberty, and EPU
on the face of each First Spouse gold coin design, yet this apparently is
considered impractical on the presidential dollar coins? Doesn't the Mint
know by now that most collectors like to see the traditional year of issue...
