Large reservoir fountain pen recommendations? by
[email protected]
Not quite a "collecting" question, per se, but this group turned up
nearly every Google Groups "Lamy Safari" hit, so perhaps the query will
be excused.
I have a Lamy Safari with a converter for using my own choice of
ink. Great pen, esp after a few weeks breaking
in the nib, but 1.) I ordered a...

Please recommend a cheap fountain pen! by
JChapman
I have a beer budget with champaign tastes... which is how I found
myself at this group.
I live near Seattle so WorldLux.com is near. If you were to visit that
site and choose from any brand of fountain pen manufacturer a good pen
for under $50, which would it be and why?
I'd like this pen to...

Rotring Core converters by
Joshua C Sasmor
Hi all,
I have a "small" problem with a pair of Rotring Cores I bought this past
December. Whenever I use the converters that came with the pens, they leak!
The pens went back for service, and they were "adjusted" but as far as I can
tell, nothing was done. Any advice (other than just use...

Don't buy form this Chink on eBay. by

This Chink will spam you even after you tell
him to stop. I have written to his Chink ISP but it did not help.
Don't buy for Chinks, they are thrives.

Violet/purple BP refill (available in Europe)?? by
Jose B. Ruivo
Hi All,
So far, the only thing I've found in the kind is the Fisher purple
refill, which I just received and skips, and the Parker gell, which
dries and skips . . .
Any other suggestions, please, (available in Europe, mail order)?
TIA,
Jose B. Ruivo

Duofold MacArthur Limited Edition by
YRC1
Hi:
I have this pen and was thinking of selling it. Can anyone please give me
some idea of where I can post it (other than eBay) and what it's approximate
value would be.
Many thanks.

Problems with Private Reserve Ink? by
Argent
I recently visited a pen seller's site that had a note about Private Reserve
inks saying that using them voided the seller's warranty. I've been using
Private Reserve Black Cherry in a couple of my pens and haven't noticed any
problems.
Does anyone have an explanation or caution about...

What is THE Book on Fountain Pens? by
Licensed to Quill
For those coming to this thread anew, this is a continuation of a completely
off-topic part of a thread which was hijacked into an ATTEMPTED flaming
session by someone who is either called Edward Bonaventure who goes under
the name of david moeser, presumably for anonymity purposes (or...

Looking for info on a pen by
Harry F. Leopold
I have a pen, the only writing on it is "All Write" The quote marks are a
part of the name. On the nib is 'Warranted' written in a curve, below that is
a triangle, below that is 14K, below that is a large 8.
It is a large, Parker Big Red sized pen, black in color, rather light in
weight for...

Fountain pen with jeans and a T-shirt? by
JChapman
I'm a complicated person with a peculiar dichotomy of tastes. I have a
technical position which affords me the ability to wear T-shirts and
jeans everyday to work. The problem is, I'd like to carry a fountain
pen with me (no shirt pockets) and would like to get some feedback and
personal...

At what point does a pen become jewelry? by
Don
Okay, I know that it's a loaded question but I'm truly mystified. The
practice of taking everyday objects of utility and adorning them to increase
their aesthetic appeal is certainly not a new idea. It's done with
everything from watches to eyeglasses, fountain pens included.
I suppose that it's an...

Inexpensive fountain pen recommendations by
[email protected]
I've been using an Aurora Ipsilon fountain pen (fine nib) that I'm not
exactly satisfied with -- no matter the ink used, it doesn't flow well,
and I'm constantly disassembling it to "recharge" the converter,
pushing the ink down to get decent flow from it.
I'm currently in starving-student mode,...

Mont Blanc Chopin Fountain pen by
Gideon
Hi, I just got a Mont Blanc Chopin Fountain pen. Does anybody know any
physical or mechanical differences between this pen and the normal
Mont Blanc meisterstuck fountain pens? From what I can see, they look
exactly the same. Also has anyone had any experience with this pen?
Thanks,
Gideon

Can't use FP on records by
Penny Howland
Was reprimanded today because my patient (home health) info doesn't show up
on 4 layers of carbons!!! (I don't press hard enough for any ball point to
show up either!!) Payroll says they are tired of having to rewrite all of
my info! Well, I am disappointed. I hate ball points, or gel points,...

Newbie question: Vintage pen for everyday use by
Edward Bonaventure
In an earlier posting, "seg" (seg at technologist dot com) scrib-
bled in message ...
- ... are vintage Conway-Stewarts ... good for everyday use?
I would've liked to say that the bottom line is that if a pen
works, use it -- end of story. But...

$10 vs $150 Pelikan: You Get What You Don't Pay For by
David Meale
I know I'm not breaking new ground here, but I have to add more fuel
to the fire about cheap pens being made to write well and more
expensive pens made to look pretty...
I just received a Pelikan 75 (Pelikan GO!) pen today. Cost me $10.
Writes beautifully.
By contrast, my Pelikan 600, which cost...
