Collecting Dictionaries by
xerlome
I recently posted messages to alt.usage.english on the subject of
dictionary interest and collecting. I posted there because my interest
is more in language than in collecting for colecting's sake. So far
there has been no meaningful followup. Perhaps this is a better place
for that. Below is...

Donating Collections to Libraries by
xerlome
In another thread, i mentioned that i am building a large collection of
dictionaries of all kinds which i have been intending to ultimately
leave in trust to an appropriate library for public use. Admittedly, i
don't know whether or how my intentions would work. Has anyone any
actual knowledge...

Hello, All:
Our modest undertaking supplies such manuscript Americana as

Original Dates of Publication... by
Writerosity
I am looking up books at the local library, and at amazon.com, and I
can't tell when the original publishing date was at these sites. Is
there a website I can go to to give me this information on most
books? Thanks in advance.

Which book should I keep? by
WrgRach
Hello all,
I have a bit of a dilemma that I'd like to have you all's input on: I have two
copies of Guy Gavriel Kay's _Tigana_, not a particularly valuable book, but one
that I admire. Both copies are first US editions, and I paid the same for both
($1). One is what I suppose is VG--nothing...

Restockimg fee by
[email protected]
I ordered an $85 book through Amazon Marketplace. Amazon instantly
advised me that the book was not available, so I promptly ordered it
from another vendor. I received two copies of the book, which I
reported to Amazon as a situation needing help. Amazon, instead of
determining blame in the...

Finally got my keelboat nickle. by
Wolley Segap
Unbelievable. After all this time, I got my first keelboat nickle today
in change for my Dijon Turkey/Ham/Bacon sub at Subway in Portland OR.
($6.19, gave him 6 and a quarter.)
You'd think I would have found a damn Lewis & Clark nickle months ago,
here at the end of the Oregon Trail.
Wonder how...
