funny leaky fountain pen story by
MatthewK
I work at an IT Center Helpdesk on my campus and a coworker stole a
converted platinum preppy pen to annoy me. She unscrewed it, and had
blue fingers for two days. :)
It was filled with diamine registrars ink and I only lost a few drops of
ink....it was so worth it.
BTW, I've never had any...

Montblanc Blue/Black and Parker 51 by
Juan[_2_]
After reading about the mixed opinions about MB blueblack, I've given
it a try. It's great, especially with moleskines: no bleeding,
smearing....
I'm using it with a parker 45 first since I can unscrew the nib in
case of clogging, but I'm a bit scared about using it with a parker 51
because of the...

Do You have a Pelikan Soveran Series? by
Tarnation
I need a new pen. I've been looking at the Pelikan Soverans. Does
anybody have one and willing to tell me about it. How would you rate
it among other comparables? Is it really among the smoothest writers?

Beginning to Write Again...After 25 Years of Printing by
coaster120
Oh my goodness...
Recently, I began to write again, and what a mess my handwriting has
become!
As a former letter writer (a change of jobs and then the computer did
my writing in), I used to correspond with friends through pages of
letters. Because of speed and the ball points that I used,...

stain removal tips by
DaveW
I did a bad thing. I put my Sheaffer Triumph Imperial (by far the best
$12 pen I've ever encountered!) in my shirt pocket with the cap posted.
The ink is from one of the black cartridges that came with the pen. They
are not marked like they were in the old days, so I can't tell if it is
supposed...

Pop Survey by
Bluesea
Since we've been on the topic of ink recently, another Pop Survey to
correspond is appropriate.
Question: What brand(s) of black, blue-black, blue, red, green, purple,
and/or turquoise do you currently have loaded in your pen(s)?
Me:
Black - Noodler's in a Namiki Falcon & a Core, and Sheaffer in...

Good quality ink? by
sbsawler
I use waterman's blue-black ink as I was told it has small ink particles
and will give good even flow. Any suggestions for a better ink?
Also, the only way I can fill a converter is to remove the nib and dip the
converter into the ink well. It seems that other's may dip the whole nib
into the ink,...

Rotring "Core" question by
Sonam Dasara
Hi,
Since these are on closout, I picked one up to leave on my desk at work so
that my loss would be small if someone walks off with it...
It's a nice, inexpensive pen, but I'm having a problem with the converter
they supply. Seems that it gets stuck in the barrel when I unscrew the
barrel, and...

Moleskin notebook paper and ink recommendations by
Nic
Hi,
I normally use a Koh-I-Noor technical pen and ink to write in my
Moleskin notebook. The paper is very smooth but very thin.
(I use the plain notebook with the orange label - hence lots of pages.
As opposed to the Moleskin notebook with fewer but thicker pages -
ideal for art and probably...

Therapy needed? by
Hal Whelply
OK, I know I'm among friends, so I can admit this, and it will go no
further, right? Stays in this room? OK. See, I have all these wonderful FPs.
A couple north of $500 to purrchase. Several more not far below that. I love
them. I use them. But recently I got hold of a pack of Pilot G-2...

How to write ? by
Andy Dingley
My handwriting is awful. It's never going to be neat, but a lot of
the problem is the _style_. At English schools of the '70s, I was
taught a *******ised copperplate. It's an ugly hand, with a lot wrong
with it. Now I think I need to learn something different.
English copperplate is an arrogant...

Turquoise Ink by

I just bought a pen from someone on eBay. Included with the purchase
were two Parker ink cartridges wtih Turquoise ink. These were items
she bought when the Parker plant closed in Janesville, WI.

these were definitely Quink...

I know what I want but does it exist? by
Penny Howland
I am looking for a pen like the Pelikan 800, but less expensive for an
everyday pen. I like the ink capacity, the girth, the filler mechanism...(I
fill my pens daily) My pens get a lot of banging around. They are out and
in use constantly, sometimes would getting hits on bars (at the jail),...

Inks by
Gary
Hello
I have discovered some bottles of ink that I bought about ten to five years ago. Thay are mainly Parker and Waterman. Can anyone tell me if i can still use these inks, or will the fact that they've been opened affect the ink and therefore damage my pens?
Many thanks
Gary

Please compare by

I am looking for a new fountain pen in the $50 - $100 range. It looks like
I can get a Pelikan 200, Waterman Expert II or a Northpointe for around the
same price. Will someone who knows far more than I compare and contrast
these pens for me as I have not used any of them. My daily writer is...

Feathering: Ink recommendations by
David
Hi
Did a search, and found a little bit of information, but I know there's
more out there. :-)
I've been using MB blue-black ink, and find that it feathers far less
than other inks I've used. What other recommendations do you have for
non-feathering ink?
(Concentrating on the JCIIACP, or John...

snorkel success of sorts by
kcat
sorry... alliteration breaks the monotony.
Got the blind cap off of the snork. found the 0-ring. And quickly
figured out how the mechanism works. slick. just couldn't picture it
with the filler tube still in the barrel.
the o-ring is quite hard and will probably take some effort to remove
it...

They certainly need to, as my junior high students have terrible
penmanship.
