European online retailer by
Roberto Medri
I was ordering a Lamy Safari blue-black MB ink and a Cross converter at FPHospital, and I suddenly realized that I was having a German pen, a bottle French ink and an Irish piece of plastic shipped to me in Italy via the US. Though I REALLY like the dollar is so weak now, I fancy that as soon as...

Noodler's in Canada? by
Txiasaeia
MAN, I've been asking a lot of questions :) Forgive my exuberance.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knew of a retailer here in Canada
that sold Noodler's ink. Unfortunately, US retailers tend to *ahem*
overcharge us Canadians on cross-border purchases - it's not that USPS
is expensive, but some...

Cleaning Silver pens by
Paul G
Hi All,
I love my silver pieces, but obviously don't use them all at the same
time.
I store them in an open tray, and they eventually get tarnished to a
point wher they need a good cloth rub to polish.
Any ideas on how to easily clean and maintain silver pens?
How are the liquid dips for...

Schmidt Fountain Pens - NOT refills by
Stephen G
Hello,
I purchased a Levenger Prima about a year ago for ~$20 and have been
quite happy with its abilities. Unfortunately Levenger quickly retired
this model before I could "stock up", so I have resorted to doing a
bit of research on the pen.
It seems that it is actually a Schmidt pen from...

Snorkel by
Jeff Miars
I have a Sheaffer Snorkel which writes beautifully, except for the fact
that it doesn't want to start writing immediately; it has to be coaxed
into starting.
Any ideas how to diagnose the problem?

Creative writing contest - "David Isaacson is . . . " by
TomW
Okay, give it your best shot. Nice or nasty, I only ask that you be
creative and honest. Here is my entry.
David Isaacson is admirably graced with a feculant personality and
crypt of a soul. His lofty achievements in smug supercilious verbal
diarrhea are only exceeded by his total superfluity...

Parker Gold Sonnet Dimonite by
Mark LV
I'm thinking of buying a gold Parker Sonnet Dimonite with an 18k solid
gold nib from Ebay. The price is good and I understand that these pens
are no longer manufactured.
Is this a good pen? How does it compare to the high-end MB, Pelikan,
Waterman?
Thanks.

Pen Cases - Pen Holders by
Cliff Reynolds
Is there a place to get a nice leather case for my pens (preferably one that
holds three pens), at a reasonable price? No fancy name or logo needed.
Just some simple and durable protection for my pens. $50.00+ seems like a
pretty stiff price for a relatively small and simple leather case. ...

New to the fountain pen world by
radarman
I have recently caught the bug and purchased what I think is a Parker
Vacumatic circa 1935 or so. I saw it in an antique mall for $14 and
thought I'd take a chance. Don't know if it works till I clean it up.
The nib is steel color with the Parker arrow in gold and the # 1 at
the base. Can anyone...

What about Swisher Private Label Inks by
john cline ii
Like many of you, I recently got a free bottle of Midnight Black from
Chuck Swisher at http://www.swisherpens.com . I have bought many,
perhaps way too many bottles of Noodler's Ink, from Chuck, from Art
Brown and from Sam at Pendemonium. Most of what I have bought has been
the waterproof...

Mechanical Pencil by
Henry
Hello all,
I'm trying to find a mechanical pencil to replace my old staedtler technical
that died. Turns out they don't make one like that anymore. So I need
alternatives. So far I've found Faber Castell TK Vario, Koh-I-Noor
Rapidomatic and a bunch of Staedtlers I'm not sure I like.
Keep in mind...

Rotring Core with poor ink flow by
Tommy C. Li
Hello,
My rotring core has always been great, but lately, ink flow has been
poor. Mainly, it's just being too stingy with the ink and not releasing
enough. I actually have to press down a bit to get it to write well.
This should not be.
When I first got the pen, it worked great.
Yesterday, I...

Pen Therapy by
Deirdre Saoirse Moen
I had a really bad day yesterday, bad enough I feel a cold coming on
from just the stress.
I decided that a spiffy little Omas 360 Midi in Purple was just the
thing. I'd spied one on my last visit to my local pen store (Signatore).
I just love it!
Now I just need to find the perfect purple ink...

Saturated Inks by
Woodshifter
I've just ordered a 1930's Waterman from Andy's Pens
(http://www.andys-pens.ukhome.net/wa066.shtml), and when I asked him
what sort of ink he'd recommend using in it, he said anything that
wasn't saturated.
I've done a bit of googling on saturated inks, and have read Richard
Binder's very...

Noodler's blue-black ink is GREAT by
Quarter Horseman
I've been looking for years for a reasonable substitute for my (former)
favorite in this color: Crescent Fre-Flow. Well, this is it. This is a
deep, dark blue-black with a pronounced tendency toward black. The
color is perfect and I wouldn't change it a bit. When held under water,
the blue goes...

what's up with Aurora? by
mz
It's been way too quiet around here as of late, so I'm gonna
stir things up a bit.
I want to know what the heck is up with Aurora nibs. The
Aurora Idea I have has a nib that's so scratchy, one would
think one was writing with a stick dipped in ink instead of
an FP. It has driven me to distraction...

Parker 51 - New or Vintage? Advise and Direction needed. by
derprediger
I want a Parker 51. The new ones - blue or black are beautiful.
I have just a bit of knowledge regarding pens - know that the early
51's came in various types of filling systems.
Ok, to the point. I need help in finding a good to excellent working
(perfectly restored) 51 - I don't need rare or...
