Is It Just Me? by
Bluesea[_3_]
I was trying to search Google Groups for info in our past posts and got the
error that the search string or phrase wasn't found, try to modify the
spelling, etc.
I tried such things as "refill" and "Bluesea" but they didn't work in either
Firefox or IE. For example:
"Your search - refill - did...

Feathers by
John B. Egger[_3_]
During our summer vacation, I found a couple of beautiful feathers. One
of them is almost certainly a wild turkey's, and the other may be an owl's.
So... how do I go about writing with them? I haven't snipped anything
off the quill end yet, but I did poke an opened-up paper clip into the
open...

Ink Bottles by
svejk
I like Noodler's/Swisher's ink quite a lot, and I appreciate paying for
ink and not a fancy bottle, but I have decided to get some bottles to
decant the 'colored water' of my choice into. Partly this comes from
having trouble seeing how far I am dipping the pen into the ink and
getting it down too...

Waterman 52 by
Sonam Dasara
Hi,
Although I have been using fountain pens for close to 40 years, none of
mine are older than that, many are more contemporary. While perusing Richard
Binder's web site (to have him hopefully modify one of mine), I came across
a writing sample from a Waterman model 52. I feel in love with...

Parker Ink Incompatibility by
jono
I was informed today in a so called quality pen Harrods Lodon not to put
Parker ink in Pelikan or other non Parker pen.
Apparently the Parker ink is more viscous and will block ink ways in non
Parker pens including Waterman.
I like Parker ink against Pelikan as it provides a better look in...

New York pen shops by
Portvrij
I am planning to visit New York in some months. What pen shop should I
visit? I am not a collector, but I'm interested in fountain pens which are
not easily to be obtained in Europe. And do you know a good address for
vintage pens?
Thanks very much!

Converters on rollerballs? by
Mark Atwood
This is a stupid question, but I can't seem to find an answer
online. I supposed I could go to UW bookstore and buy one and try it,
but...
Do higher quality rollerball pens take converters and regular FP ink?

Finally got my Cross ATX back... by
Doki
And the black plastic part of the nib (feed?) which was flat against the nib
on the old nib, and on every other fountain pen I can remember seeing, is at
an angle to the back of the nib. Am I correct in thinking this isn't right
and that I should go and play hell up with the pen shop (bearing in...

RB vs. BP by
Ron Wilbanks
I was asked a question today by friend of mine what the difference is
between a roller ball and a ball-point pen. I know they are somewhat
similar, but what is the technical difference?

Ron Wilbanks

Pen Transporting by
Roberto Medri
Again,
sorry for asking a question you'd have come through a thousand times.
I like writing with FPs during university classes. Unfortunately, my
university is in Milan, 60km away from Como where I live. I do have to
take the car, train, subway, bus, and finally walk to get there.
I fear it is...

"Inkjet" paper by
Dave
I have some Staples brand "inkjet paper". Is it likely to be coated with
anything that would clog a pen?
Thanks

Hopefully not too OT by
Penny Howland
Saw a pen I wanted on EBay but price was in Euro and I haven't a clue as to
exchange rate and couldn't find it anywhere! I even got the translated site
but no info. I almost went 1,500 euro over but thought that was stupid not
knowing what I was doing! Might get a bill for $250 or some such...

Delta stink by
Marten van de Kraats
About a year and half ago or maybe a bit longer, at a time that I wasn't
into collecting pens yet and knew even less about pens than I know now,
I was looking for red ink. I had witnesed that red inks often weren't as
red as I wanted them to be (mainly from experience with some el cheapo
ink...

I need a new instrument by
Messer
Hallo
I'd like to ask for some advice on getting a new fountain pen. I write
a lot and take many notes, and decent pen is necessity. As an everyday
writer I was using Waterman Apostrophe and it had all I need, but I
lost it :( In case it happens again I think I'm not going to spend
more than...

Vanishing Point nib question by
Steven M. Friedlander
I have a Vanishing Point pen with a broad nib that I use as my "signature"
pen. I would now like to buy another with either a medium or fine point as
a general purpose pen. I would appreciate feedback regarding whether the
medium and fine perform on the "finer" side or not. For example, would...

Hero Fountain Pen Ink by
Steve Lyons
Hello all:
I recently purchased a Hero Gold 12K fountain pen. To my surprise, it uses
the bladder style system. I use cartridges, so I am unfamiliar with the
best, most appropriate ink for this pen. If anyone has an experience with
this pen and the proper ink, I would appreciate any advice. I...

Parker Dimonite Ruthenium by
Jeff
Does anyone have any information about an apparently new pen from Parker?
They seem to be positioning it with (against?) the Frontier line. Here's a
picture of it:
http://www.parkerpen.co.uk/pics/search_116
I found it located at the UK site http://www.parkerpen.co.uk listed for
£5.00 - £9.99 but...
