The anticipation begins... by
Kirkaptain
I've been doing a lot of writing (and lurking) lately and I am finally
making the plunge into fountain pen addiction.
I can hardly wait. Just ordered a closeout fine point Waterman Phileas
and some Noodler's waterproof black from Swisher Pens. Can't wait for
them to get here. Untill then it's...

Extra Fine Tip Utilitarian FP advice by
[email protected]
Hello, all.
For the past week I have been using a Lamy Vista FP with a Medium Nib,
Lamy blue ink laid down on Ampad Gold Fibre paper. This is my first
fountain pen, and I'm hooked.
Prior, I used a Sanford uniball micro.
My question:
What is a good utilitarian fountain pen for daily writing that...

Looking for an opinion on lower cost pens by
Al Rodecap
I've read thru a good bit of the posts on various aspects of pen
selection and am thinking of ordering either a Rotring Core fine nib or
a Sensa Meridian fine nib or maybe both. I'd like to know opinions on
these as well as experiences with various brands of ink's in them. The
Noodler inks look to...

Newbie Quetion No. 4.3- Resin, Celluloid, what the heck? by
[email protected]
Are pen casings made of resins or are they made of celluloid or are
resin and celluloid the same thing. I read abut both, but don't really
know what they are talking about. Are resin pens more valuable than
celluloid or does that not have anything to do with the value?
Just curious (and I want...

Water Resistant Brown Ink by
Sonny
I currently write with Pelikan Brown. It has become my standard for taking
notes, and signing documents, checks contracts, etc. I recently spilled
some water on notes that I was taking. I couldn't believe how badly the
Pelikan brown washed out. I was writing on a yellow legal pad, and the...

Ink Reviews: Orange, Apricot Orange, Quick Lime by
Bluesea[_3_]
Conway Stewart Orange:
It looks reddish in the bottle, but is plainly orange juice on paper. The
resemblance is so remarkable that I wanted some juice to make sure. (I don't
keep OJ on hand.) Fortunately, a TV commercial for OJ made from Valencia
oranges played and I verified that it, indeed, is...

My first M800 - thoughts by
[email protected]
Well, after collecting quite a few pens ranging from cheapo to somewhat
better and a few antiques, I finally broke down and got the M800 - the
"ULTIMATE" pen. Here are my thoughts, would love feedback from more
experienced writers.
LOOK - Great. Classy, large but not ridiculous, beautiful nib. ...

Just curious for anyone with Imperial and Legacy experience. How much
of a difference in physical size is there between these two.

CLEANING A PISTON FILLER by
travismore
only use distilled water or a cleaning solution from an authorized dealer.
NEVER use tap or bottled drinking water. floride and other treating
chemicals can cause your ink to bead in the barrel and/or disrupt ink
flow.
if you have used tap water in your pen, remove the ink and i would...

Blessed are those who write with pen and paper by
[email protected]
Had two writing sessions with a pen and paper so far, exceeding my
expectations; far better than writing on a computer... in the first
session I wrote 8 pages in just over an hour, in the second, not
counted yet, but at least as much or even more considering I wrote for
just over two hours, both...

ebay question by
macaddicted
I got an email that is supposedly from ebay offering to make me a "Power
Seller". While I am active on ebay, my rating nor my activity seem
enough to justify ebay giving me this rating. I clicked on it, and
stupidly logged in. But something about it seemed strange, so I clicked
the link...

Hi All,
Interested in you comments on the Omas 360 piston-fillers.
I've used a "Wilde" roller for some time now, and have come to like the
feel and shape over time.
Thinking of purchasing the same size fountain pen, and would apperciate
the thoughts and comments of the group.
Thanks, and enjoy the...

Suggestions for an everyday FP by
Greg
As I posted last week, I just got my Century II and I finally fixed the
refill problem (no thanks to Cross), but now that I have a taste for
quality writing, I'd like to step back into the FP world. First, a
little background. I'm a pharmacy student so I write dozens of pages
per week between...

Phileas Ink Flow by
Greg
As I said in another post, I recently purchased the Waterman Phileas.
By and large I'm quite happy with the purchase. The nib is
exceptionally smooth, and the balance and feel is exactly what I was
looking for. I am having a problem though. I find that that ink flow
is a touch inconsistent. ...

Testing of Mont Blanc Sepia vs. Blue Black by

Some of you requested photos of Mont Blanc's Sepia and Blue Black, both
regularly and as a comparison of waterproofness and the like. For those
who are interested, I've posted some photos of the process on
alt.binaries.pens-pencils and below I detail what I did:
