Cleaning up after by
Curtis L. Russell
No, not the squirting ink on the desk thing.
When I refill a pen in less than perfect ink bottles, I've been using
Kleenex/tissues to clean up the area around the nib and comb. Far less
than perfect and it can sometimes suck enough off the pen to pass
through to my fingers, which rather misses the...

Fountain pen as highlighter? by
Juhapekka Tolvanen
Have somebody ever tried this?
1) Buy some fountain pen with extremely broad nib.
2) Fill it with bright yellow or orange fountain pen ink.
3) Use it as higlighter instead of highlighting felt pen (for example
Stabilo Boss). I mean, draw wide line over text you want to highlight
with that pen.

Namiki /Pilot cartridges in Canada by
dlloyd9999
Ink Cartridges... Need 'em and can't find 'em!!! In Canada anyway. I can
order them, but everyone wants to charge me $30.00US to cross the border...
The only place in Ottawa (Where I live) which seems able to order them, is
confused, and wants money upfront, and me to fax over my CCard... (I...

Do you really like grey fountain pen ink (on cream colored paper)? by
Juhapekka Tolvanen
Sometimes I wonder, if I should try out grey ink in fountain pen. What
are your opinions? Who of you all like to write with grey ink? What are
the best grey inks you have found?
Is it true, that grey ink looks best on cream paper:

permanent ink versus washable ink by
[email protected]
I bought cartridges yesterday and saw that I had a choice between
permanent and watshable ink. Now for me it was an easy choice; I wanted
permanent because I didn't want my writing washed off if caught in a
sudden splash of rain.
Now, maybe I'm missing something, but why would anyone want...

Noodler's Ink and Pelikans? by
Brian
I recently came across a web site specializing in selling vintage
Pelikans and other brands. One thing which caught my eye was that the
owner will void his warranty for using Noodler's ink. But no
explanation was given for this.
Since I own a relatively new Pelikan M400 (about 1 yr. old) and...

Oscar Braun pens by
[email protected]
I'm about to buy a couple of new pens. The best prices by far that
I've seen for them are at oscar braun pens online.
Any reviews on the sales and service of Oscar Braun? How do they sell
so cheap?
Thanks!

Handwriting 2: Looped cursive? by
John B. Egger
One of my Christmas gifts was a copy of the Getty and Dubay book "Write
Now," which I'd let people know I would like to receive. But I'm not
sure I care for their "cursive italic." Frankly, I LIKE the "looped
cursive" that I learned as a boy in the 1950s. (The cursive that I
learned doesn't have...

Vintage Pelikan 400 -- ink recommendations by
RickM
Greetings FP users,
I've used FPs for over 25 years now every day -- still have my original
everyday Schaeffer brushed stainless steel with Fine nib that has
written literally thousands upon thousands of words. Although I own a
handful of nice pens, all well used (Waterman, Schaeffer, Lamy),...

Pen That Can Take Parker Gel Refill by
Surinder Singh
Can Any one suggest a nice but inexpensive ($20) pen that will take the
Parker Gel refills? I tried to use them in a Joter, but my fingers start
aching because the jotter is too thin for me to grip.
Thanks.

Pilikan M200 quality question by
Cliff Reynolds
I just received my new Pelikan M200 in the mail. I understand that this is
an entry level pen. And that the craftmanship and tolerances on teh parts
will not be the same as Pelikan's more expensive writing instruments. Here
is my question: When following the manufacturers instructions for...

nib grinding by
Sonam Dasara
Hi,
I have enjoyed reading the posts on this news-group for some time, and
I am posting today because I am interested in sharing information with
anyone here that grinds their own nibs; I've done a few, but have reached a
point where I need some help, and hope that in this news-group there...

quick note on inks by
Scaupaug1
A set of tests including ball pens and sharpies... Note Noodler's black is 100%
water based ink - fill a pelikan or other visuated chamber pen and rinse it out
hundreds of times before your own eyes - see how clean it is....yet watch what
happens once the ink dries on cellulose...

Received: Pelikan 605. Couple of questions by
Txiasaeia
First of all, what a difference from my metal Technixx! A nice light
pen but a tiny bit bigger, the perfect size. I really like the fine
nib as compared to the medium - exactly perfect for me.
Now, I've never used a drinker before, but I seemed to fill up the
reservoir without any problems. The...

Heads Up - Stiffer Parker Sonnet nibs by
Bluesea
I have an assortment of Sonnets: Fougere, Premier Blue and Green, Black
Laque, Ruby Red and noticed that the Fougere nib is stiffer. Having one of
those light bulb moments, I called Parker's Customer Service to ask if I
could buy a separate nib section for my Fougere so that I can have the
writing...

Anyone have a reliable source for breather tubes such as found in
Eversharp Skylines? They're about the thickness of spaghetti and appear to
be made of hard plastic.
