MS65 Morgan by [email protected]
Some coins are so ugly they're shocking. For example: http://cgi.ebay.com/1878-8-TF-MORGAN-SILVER-DOLLAR-PCGS-MS-65-NR-COLORS_W0QQitemZ8424445804QQcategoryZ39465QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This is one of the most unappealing coins I've seen, but I guess that beauty is in the eye of the...

A lucky find by WheatPenny
Today I bought a box of about 140 unsearched foreign silver coins. There was one non-silver coin in the box: an 1886 Liberty nickle.

http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=506102 I shot the picture at the top of the page. Had a friend post it with a made-up story. Waited to see what the reaction was. Then scroll down a bit and you'll see my posting where I explain the whole thing. It was, umm, an...

I have some coins that need to be graded. I live north of Boston. Does anyone know of a good place to go? I know nothing about coins. These were left to me by my Dad and I need to have some graded before I sell them. Thanks

Someone with a KM catalog look up a coin for me? by Brian O
I've heard that the Cook Islands has issued a $1 denomination coin that depicts Elvis Presley. The date of the coin is 2004. If anyone has a 2005 catalog or later could confirm this and maybe get the Krause number for me, it would be appreciated. Thanks. B

.25 cents in change from the gas station revealed the following-- by bri
10-1917 Lincoln cents ranging from Fr2 to a nice VF30 and 15 BU '06P Lincolns of which I haven't even looked at yet. She said they had a whole roll given to them so I wonder who kept the nicer '17's? And one would wonder if someone reaalllly needed a nicotine fix bad? ;-)

FA: Old Chicago Striptease Club Token, "Good For 5c in Drinks" by Bob
The "French Casino" is listed in Chicago Confidential (1950) under "Palaces of Peel" where one can see "Bare Babes," though stripping was illegal in Chicago then. A scarce if not rare token, listed as R5 (highest rarity R6) by the late Ore Vacketta in his catalog of Illinois trade tokens. The...
