This is a new-old-stock beautiful JVC four channel surround sound quad
8 track tape deck. I opened the box only so I could hook up the unit
and test it. It works perfectly and sounds great! You get the quad
underdash tape deck, all necessary wiring for installing 4 speakers,
all mounting brackets and hardware. Even spare fuses! Comes with
original manual and complete operation and installation instructions.
Here's how the deck is described in the original brochure, circa the
early 1970's.

"Until recently you could obtain only stereo reproduction in car
players. In stereo the sound is split into 2-channels, left and right.
Now it is possible to split the sound into 4 different channels giving
you a richness of sound and an ambience of reproduction never before
possible. You will find yourself truly sitting in the middle of the
performance. As part of its unique design, the JVC model 1350
automatically switches from 2-channel to 4-channel quadraphonic
automatically."

Not to be a jerk for no reason and blow your chances of a sale, but I
got one of those NOS once from a well-esteemed 8T collector....... The
sound was pretty good, but after a month or so of playing it, the
tracks wouldn't switch. It was stuck on track 4 of stereo tapes and
track 2 of quads.

I sold the car it was in pretty shortly afterwards, and it has sat
around my house since, waiting for my lazy ass to do something with
it.

So, before you spend a day skinning your knees and slicing your
fingers while curled up in a fetal position below the dash trying to
install it, you may want to open it up and head off any
track-switching problems at the pass, so to speak.
