Vintage ½ Gal Brookings Gasoline Service Station Oil Canister
This vintage ½ Gal Brooklings Gasoline Service Station Oil Canister is in
good condition. It is a metal canister with flexible metal spout. The
canister measures 10 ½ inches high, spout length of 15 inches and canister
diameter of 5 ½ inches. The front side of the canister is marked, (1/2
Gallon, Patented USA, 1,516,706, RE. 17.202). It also has the Gasoline
Companys label (Model No. 102, Brookins, Service Station Equipment,
Mishawaka, Indiana, 46544). The backside is marked, (Approved: Penn, NY,
Ala, Minn, No. B-11). The canister has a metal rod lever that, when pulled
up, opens a hinged trapdoor in the bottom of the canister to allowing the
oil to flow to the spout for pouring. The canister has flaking of the
plating, but no rust as seen in the pictures. Overall condition is good.
